Winter activities
Few winter destinations offer more variety than the Reschensee holiday area. From snowkiting and ice skating on Lake Reschen or Lake Haider to snowshoeing and winter walking on a 60-kilometre network of groomed trails – ranging from leisurely walks to high-mountain climbs – every option is at your fingertips. Families can look forward to exciting toboggan rides, including the 4-kilometre floodlit run on Mt. Watles, while cross-country skiers will get their money’s worth on the Nordic3 network, which encompasses 224 kilometres of trails leading across three countries.
Skiers of all ages and levels have a choice of two different ski areas. The Schöneben-Haideralm area has a ski school with over 20 experienced teachers and its children’s programme was awarded a quality seal – the perfect choice for first approaches to skiing. The Watles ski area features Bubo Kinderpark – a kindergarten on snow with certified childcare and an exciting daily programme designed to teach children how to ski in a fun, playful way.
It gets even better: these two ski areas are part of the Two Country Ski Arena. This means that one single pass for two or more days gives you access to both areas plus the Nauders ski area in North Tyrol – think 159 kilometres of pistes, 41 lifts and a unique experience across the border between Italy and Austria.
